Chateau du Moulin Rouge

BACKGROUND

Moulin Rouge makes an appealing and highly drinkable style of claret – neither light nor excessively heavy – but supple, harmonious, and richly fruity. The secret here is location…vineyards are situated on gravel crops either side of the D2, the last one passes before entering the St Julien appellation. Neighbouring vineyards belong to Branaire, Ducru Beaucaillou and Gloria ! Resisting the tide of corporate ownership, this chateau has remained in the hands of the same family for 13 generations now.
