The name Emilio Lustau has not only become synonymous with highest quality sherry, it has transcended the traditional sherry market to establish a whole new category of sophisticated drinking. Think ‘Lustau’ and one does not think of musty, sticky brown liquids in a previous generation’s glassware. ‘Lustau’ is about super-fresh tapas and cutting-edge food and wine pairing. It is about complexity and harmony, elegance and balance, intensity and persistence. This is 21st century wine.
Robert Parker called the Emilio Lustau line “simply staggering in quality,” and added “Sherries such as these remain among the last great unknown wine bargains of the world. They must be tasted to be believed!”

Almacenistas and VORS:
The word “Almacenista” in Spanish means storekeeper or stockholder. In the specific Jerez context, the expression has been officially defined and protected within the Regulations of the Sherry Council or Governing Body.
Traditionally, the Almacenistas of Jerez have always stored and matured the finest Sherries on behalf of shippers and exporters. Lustau were the first to offer these to the outside world, bottled unblended to preserve their true glory. Lustau invented, and remains the undisputed leader in this category.
Quantities are understandably very limited as the Almacenistas themselves are often reluctant to part with their “collectors’ items”.
In 2000, for the first time, the Consejo Regulador of Jerez agreed to approve and certify the minimum age of exceptional, long-aged sherries. The certification process is strictly controlled, with the butts tasted, sealed and then retasted before bottling to guarantee quality and authenticity. ‘VOS’ is the classification for sherries certified over 20 years in age. ‘VORS’ is the classification for sherries certified over 30 years in age. These are rare sherries that are sure to generate great interest.
Brandies and Vermouth:
We are very excited to offer the all-new range of fine Brandy de Jerez from top boutique Sherry house EMILIO LUSTAU.
LUSTAU made the strategic decision a number of years ago to focus only on the highest quality Brandies, long-aged in fine old casks that previously held Lustau’s famous Amontillados, Olorosos and Pedro Ximenez sherries. Each cask impregnates its Brandy with unique aromas and flavors, plus varying hues of color, before blending for complexity and consistency according to the time-honored traditions of the “Solera System” that Lustau master better than anyone.
The new range comprises 3 quality levels:
- SOLERA RESERVA aged for an average of 3 years in old Amontillado casks.
- SOLERA GRAN RESERVA: aged for an average of 10 years (equivalent of XO grade in Cognac) in old Amontillado and Oloroso casks.
- SOLERA GRAN RESERVA FINEST RESERVE: aged for an average of over 15 years in very old, very rare Amontillado, Oloroso and PX casks.
These are outstanding artisanal spirits packed with distinctive flavors, and finished with Lustau’s customary polish. And as is also customary for Lustau, pricing is a real steal given the age, complexity and intensity of the product.
